Over 50 inbound tour operators joined Quicksilver for a breakfast sail on Wavedancer. It was a perfect day, with gentle breezes, calm seas and a pod of dolphins swimming alongside. A wonderful way to start the day enjoying a hearty breakfast under tropical skies. |

The recent conference and incentive tradeshow and famil organised by the Cairns Region Convention Bureau showcased the region to over 35 conference organisers and meeting planners. Quicksilver VIII was the venue for the official welcome by Queensland’s Tourism Minister, Desley Boyle to the delegates and local suppliers. Our vessel was transformed by Hannafords Special Events with the bridge deck themed and converted into a dance floor while the main deck showcased wonderful food and wines. A number of delegates also joined us for a day of snorkelling on the reef following the workshops. |

GREEN ISLAND OCEAN SWIM
The annual Great Adventures Green Island Ocean Swim held in October was a great success with new course records set. Seventy five swimmers took on the challenge of the 1.5km and 3km swims in this unique Great Barrier Reef event. With many of the competitors having competed in ocean swims around Australia and the world, they were amazed by the spectacular course, spotting turtles, rays and small reef tip sharks along the way.... "HOW DO FISH COMMUNICATE? "
The colour of fish is one of the main forms of communication. With most fish lacking any form of vocalisation, the only way to communicate is by sight. This is very important at breeding time and camouflage is another aspect which makes them less vulnerable to predators and also helps them blend into the corals. |
